A small, insecure, old man named Mike Ditka is against freedom of expression against racial injustice, yet he wants that argument to be made in a league that undresses its players for exposure?
"If it was up to me, I'd say no," Ditka responded when asked about kneeling. "If you can't respect our national anthem, get the hell out of the country. That's the way I feel. Of course, I'm old- fashioned. So, I'm only going to say what I feel."
Ditka is the new Chairman of the X League, (Lingerie Football League) which is a women's tackle football league that according to its website is set to make its debut in April of 2021.
The X League will compromise of some of the world’s most athletic women, battling on a 70-yard field, in 7-on-7 full-contact tackle football.
The league’s “athletic wear” standards that compare to beach volleyball uniforms are the indoor football league’s biggest calling card.
The Lingerie Football League's initial uniforms consisted of shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee pads, performance wear, and ice hockey-style helmets with clear plastic visors in lieu of face masks. The original uniforms of the Lingerie Football League consisted of an athletic bra and underwear that were more revealing than protective, as well as added lace, ribbons, and garters as decoration.
It’s so sad that this is where Ditka chooses to throw his weight and voice within the football narrative!
This is the same guy who "allegedly" sent players back into games with concussions. He’s the guy who was described this way by former Bears safety Dave Duerson: “Mike was not one who gave a damn about the players or their injuries when he was coaching.” Duerson later took his own life, and in death was diagnosed the brain disease CTE.
Ditka is the guy who berated his own Bears players for not crossing a picket line when the NFLPA was on strike in 1987.
The guy, who in 2016 said, “I think it’s a problem. Anybody who disrespects this country and the flag. If they don’t like the country they don’t like our flag, get the hell out. My choice is, I like this country, I respect our flag, and I don’t see all the atrocities going on in this country that people say are going on,” Ditka said. “I see opportunities if people want to look for opportunity. Now, if they don’t want to look for them then you can find problems with anything, but this is the land of opportunity because you can be anything you want to be if you work. If you don’t work, that’s a different problem.”
I know, some of you will say, "But he apologized." Here is his apology. "I have absolutely seen oppression in society in the last 100 years and I am completely intolerant of any discrimination. The interview was about the NFL and the related issues. That’s where my head was at. I was quoted in the interview stating, 'You have to be color blind.' I stated that you should look at a person for what they are and not the color of their skin. I’m sorry if anyone was offended."

Now this arm chair patriot is doubling down on what he said. After his apology for not saying it that is. He is supporting a notoriously bad human being, he is telling Americans, who are using their First Amendment rights to express thoughts different than his, to leave the country, and he is telling your daughter to play football in a hockey helmet and her underwear.
Maybe he should be encouraging your daughter to be more like Jen Welter, who was the first woman non-kicker or placekick-holder to play in a men’s pro football game. She suited up at running back for the Texas Revolution of the IFL.
"Calculated ignorance may pay off for Mike Ditka. Most people will write off his predictable bigotry the way we disregard the rants of a drunk uncle at Thanksgiving. Comfortable people will do anything to remain comfortable, no matter the cost to others. Ditka will just be one more American coward, one more person who, faced with the moral challenge of our era, shirked and skittered away. The burden he has chosen not to shoulder falls instead on the rest of us, that weight just a little heavier for his cheap evasion. One more icon down. So few remaining.
